Metaplanet to Secure $21 Million to Acquire More Bitcoin

Following its latest acquisition of Bitcoin, the Japanese investment firm Metaplanet is seeking to raise additional funds through a new bond offering to enhance its expanding crypto treasury.

According to a statement released on May 9, the firm will utilize the $21.25 million raised from the sale of “0% Ordinary Bonds” solely for Bitcoin purchases.

Zero-coupon bonds do not provide interest to their holders. Typically, these bonds are issued at a significant discount from their face value, and upon maturity, the holder receives the bond’s full value.
