Gate U.S. Launches, To Offer Spot Crypto Trading to U.S. Customers

Gate Group has officially launched the Gate U.S. trading platform, which is now offering crypto spot trading services to users in the U.S. for the first time. The platform currently supports crypto-to-crypto trading, with plans to introduce fiat on-ramps, custodial services, and local payment systems in the future. Gate U.S. currently holds licenses in 23 U.S. states.

The move marks a significant milestone for the crypto exchange, as it continues its expansion plans. Expanding into the United States also reflects the country’s crypto regulatory shifts, as it works towards embracing cryptocurrency and innovation.

Gate Finally Launches Full Operations in the United States

Gate Group was founded in 2013 by Lin Han, with over $10 billion in audited reserves and support for over 3000 pairs globally. The global crypto exchange was incorporated in the United States in 2020, but didn’t launch fully until now amid changes in regulations.

With its U.S. arm fully operational, Gate US will allow customers in the country access

  • Spot trading features and facilitate crypto-to-crypto trading via efficient trading matches
  • High-speed order execution and advanced risk control in line with Gate’s global standards

All features will be available to consumers with full compliance and operational credentials. Gate US has reiterated its commitment to meeting all U.S. regulatory frameworks, including AML and KYC requirements.

The Impact of Gate U.S.’s Operation

With Gate U.S. fully operational, a major international competitor is added to the myriad of exchanges already operating in the country. This is good, as it encourages competition among fellow platforms. More competition often translates to better service delivery, lower fees, larger liquidity, more trading pairs, and enhanced innovative products. Gate U.S. customers will access global liquidity at their fingertips.

Additionally, becoming fully operational in the United States while being compliant gives users greater confidence in the platform. It sets new standards for compliance, encouraging other platforms like OKX that are re-entering or expanding into the U.S. market. Plus, Gate has a long history of auditing, backed by security audit firms like Armanino LLP.

The platform also provides full disclosures about their reserves to U.S authorities, aligning with legislation like the GENIUS Act and the pending CLARITY Act. This alignment gives Gate U.S. a big advantage over non-compliant platforms, as its operations will not attract the eye of regulators and coincide with the broader pro-crypto policies by Donald Trump.

What’s Next for Gate US?

The exchange will launch new features for its U.S. customers, such as Fiat on/off ramps and custodial wallet support. Ramps will allow dollar deposits and withdrawals via its regulated partners in the United States. The custodial storage options will be fully integrated with U.S. payment systems.

Gate U.S. will hope to bridge the gap between crypto users and non-crypto users in the country with its simplified onboarding, trading services, and above all, educational advocacies. Currently, a Gallup survey shows only 35% of Americans “understand crypto,” and 60% express no desire to hold it. The new entrant will hope to foster crypto infrastructure growth, strengthen trust through transparency, and catalyze innovation. This will help with the onboarding process.

For now, it’s all celebration for the platform after its historic launch, as it awaits integrations. It has become the first global fully compliant exchange to enter the U.S. crypto market with a locally registered platform. It arrives at a time when the crypto landscape has friendlier regulations. With Gate U.S. being fully compliant, navigating the regulatory landscape will pose no issue.
