Coinme, a crypto ATM operator, has been fined $300,000 by California for violating the state’s $1,000 daily transaction limit at its kiosks and for failing to provide required customer disclosures. This marks California’s first enforcement action under its Digital Financial Assets Law, with a portion of the fine, $51,700, going to an elderly scam victim. The move aims to combat rising crypto ATM scams and ensure consumer protection.
