The Mayor of Panama City Hints at a Bitcoin Reserve

Panama City Mayor Mayer Mizrachi has suggested the possibility of setting up a Bitcoin reserve at the city level in a vague post following his discussions with two Bitcoin policy leaders from El Salvador.

“Bitcoin Reserve,” Mizrachi wrote on X on May 16 after his meeting with El Salvador-based Bitcoin advocates Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert.

Although Mizrachi did not provide specifics about his talks with Keiser and Herbert, the timing of his post coincided with the upcoming Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas, where he is slated to speak in 11 days.
