South Korean Actress Hwang Jung-eum Pleads Guilty to $3 Million Crypto Embezzlement

Popular South Korean actress Hwang Jung-eum has admitted to stealing over $3 million from her agency for crypto investments. The 39-year-old confessed to misappropriation of funds in the Jeju District Court last week. 

Following the admission, SBS Plus announced that Hwang’s scenes from the final episode of the reality TV show “Because I’m Single” have been cut. The network also said her MC commentary would also be reduced. 

That’s not all! The health supplement brand Daesang Wellife Nucare has also pulled down all ads featuring the actress and canceled an online event she was supposed to attend. Hwang has since apologised for her decision, calling it, “hasty and immature.”
