K Wave Media, a Korean media alliance listed on Nasdaq, has announced a securities purchase agreement with Bitcoin Strategic Reserve KWM LLC. The agreement will lead to a joint establishment of an equity financing facility of up to $500 million.
The proceeds will support the company’s Bitcoin-focused treasury strategy. A portion will be allocated to operating Bitcoin Lightning Network nodes and investing in Bitcoin infrastructure.
The company aims to mirror Metaplanet to adopt a Bitcoin reserves strategy to strengthen its balance sheet. By adopting a Bitcoin Treasury, KWM consumers can also purchase content and K-pop merchandise with BTC.
