Japanese Investment Firm Metaplanet Buys Bitcoin Again

Metaplanet, a Japanese investment firm, adds to its BTC reserve by purchasing another 1,088 BTC. The recent acquisition brings the total holdings to 8,888 BTC, worth $930 million, according to Bitcoin’s current value.

The firm made the latest purchase at an average of $108,051 per BTC for a total of $117.5 million. This announcement follows Metaplanet’s recent issuance of $50 million zero-interest bonds.

The latest acquisition reinforces the firm’s position as Asia’s biggest institutional Bitcoin holder and among the top 10 globally. CEO Simon Gerovich often cites MicroStrategy as inspiration behind its moves.
