A new malware called MassJacker is targeting users who download software, secretly stealing their cryptocurrency. It swaps wallet addresses in the background, so whenever victims send funds, the money goes straight to the hackers instead. Unlike traditional scams with fake PDFs or suspicious download links, hackers are getting smarter—some even use fake job interviews, tricking victims into installing malware by pretending their mic or camera is broken. In recent cases, the hackers seem to encourage those seeking pirated software to download compromised packages.
Experts warn: if it sounds like a great deal, think twice—because that “free” download might just empty your crypto wallet!
