A French-Moroccan man believed to be a central figure in a series of recent cryptocurrency-related abductions in France has been detained in Morocco.
Following a request from French officials, Morocco’s national police and intelligence agency apprehended Badiss Mohamed Amide Bajjou — a 24-year-old dual national of France and Morocco who was allegedly found carrying several knives and multiple smartphones.
France’s Justice Minister, Gérald Darmanin, lauded the arrest in a June 4 post on X after the French publication Le Parisien reported on the detainment.
