Bybit has been granted a MiCA license by the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) to operate across member countries of the EU. Bybit will use Austria as its hub, while coordinating operations across the 27 EU states. This marks a significant milestone for both the exchange and Austria, which is becoming a crypto-friendly jurisdiction.
MiCA, which came into effect in early 2025, is a regulatory framework that standardizes crypto oversight across the EU member states. By obtaining a MiCA license, Bybit will offer crypto services, including trading and custody, across the bloc. The cryptocurrency exchange will also maintain full compliance, fostering trust among users.
