A Law Firm Aims to End Turkey’s Crypto Payment Ban

A Turkish law firm is challenging the country’s 2021 ban on cryptocurrency payments in court. The ban prohibits the use of crypto for payments, although buying, holding, and trading cryptocurrencies remain legal. The firm argues that legalizing crypto payments could boost financial innovation and position Turkey as a leader in blockchain technology. The case will be heard on May 28 in Ankara, and a favorable ruling could pave the way for crypto exchanges to operate in Turkey. Could this be the beginning of a crypto comeback in the country?
