Financial Losses Sparks Crypto ATM Fraud Prevention Act

U.S. lawmakers are taking action against the rising threat of crypto ATM fraud, which cost Americans nearly $170 million in losses from 2023 through mid-2024. Senators Jack Reed, Dick Durbin, Richard Blumenthal, and Peter Welch have introduced the Crypto ATM Fraud Prevention Act to prevent the scams targeting vulnerable users, especially seniors. This proposed legislation aims to establish national standards and enhance consumer protections for crypto ATM users.
