The major financial firm BlackRock held a meeting with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Crypto Task Force to talk about staking in crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs) and the tokenization of securities. This conversation may enhance the interest of institutional investors in the crypto sector.
In a memo released on May 9 by the task force, it was noted that BlackRock aimed to “discuss perspectives on the treatment of staking, including considerations for enabling ETPs with staking features.” The firm has previously indicated that while Ether exchange-traded funds have seen success, they are not as optimal without staking options.
