Cryptocurrency exchange, Bitfinex, has announced the transfer of 7,000 BTC to Twenty One Capital as part of its investment in the company. Twenty One Capital is a new Bitcoin investment company founded by SoftBank, Tether, Cantor Fitzgerald, and Bitfinex.
The company aims to become the new MicroStrategy in the corporate space by buying and holding large amounts of BTC for the long term. Tether is the company’s largest shareholder.
Twenty One Capital owns approximately 42,000 BTC, worth $3.56 billion. It occupies the third position on the list of institutional companies with large BTC reserves. Tether holds the majority with 18,713, trailed by SoftBank’s 10,500 BTC. Bitfinex is the latest company to invest in the Bitcoin company.
