Arizona Governor Signs For State To Retain Unclaimed Cryptocurrency.

Arizona’s Governor Katie Hobbs has enacted legislation that permits the state to retain unclaimed cryptocurrency and create a “Bitcoin Reserve Fund” without utilizing taxpayer dollars or state funds. On May 7, Hobbs approved House Bill 2749, which enables Arizona to take ownership of abandoned digital assets if the owners do not respond to notifications within three years. The state’s custodians are allowed to stake the cryptocurrency to generate rewards or to receive airdrops, which can subsequently be added to what Arizona refers to as a Bitcoin and Digital Asset Reserve Fund.
